June 9, 2026 Board Meeting Recap

The River Trails School District 26 Board of Education held a meeting on Tuesday, June 9 at River Trails Middle School.  A full recording of the meeting is available for viewing on our YouTube page. 

Here are the highlights:     

  • The board resumed open session after holding a closed session on personal and negotiations prior to the meeting.  
  • The board voted on and approved the consent agenda, which included 5/5/26 Board of Education meeting and closed session minutes, 5/19/26 Board of Education Special Meeting and Closed Session Minutes, personnel report, actual payroll, bills and checks, electronic equipment recycling/disposal, renewal service contracts, workers compensation and property and liability insurance, resolution to Transfer Funds from the Education Fund to the Operations & Maintenance Fund and from the Operations & Maintenance to Capital Projects, board agreements, and board & superintendent communications expectations,  
  • Board Communication discussed field day at Indian Grove, Concerts at RTMS, Music Sharing at Euclid, 8th grade award breakfast, Feed My Starving Children field trip and dinner dance, the retirement and recognition dinner, and  8th Grade Graduation. 
  • Dr.Megerle and administration provided an end of year report.
  • Fiscal Year 2027 Compensation for Administration, ESC Support Staff and Superintendent were discussed and approved.   
  • Mr. Ryan Berry provided an update on staffing plans for the upcoming school year. 
  • The NSSEO Committee report sought feedback about NSSEO Signage and gave information about negotiations and extended school year. 
  • The Policy Committee update was given by Mrs. Freedlund, which discussed Press Packet 121 that will be in the July Consent agenda.
  • The finance committee report had information on the Fiscal Year 27 Tentative Budget and 5 Year projections. Information was also given on School Meal Fees for the 2026/2027 school year. It was voted on and approved. 
  • The President’s report highlighted the summer district office hours and  upcoming board dates. 
  • Superintendent Dr. Megerle gave information about the Strategic Plan Goals, and her goals for the 2026/2027 School Year in her report.
