The River Trails School District 26 Board of Education held a meeting on Tuesday, April 14 at River Trails Middle School. A full recording of the meeting is available for viewing on our YouTube page.
Here are the highlights:
- The board resumed open session after holding a closed session on personnel and negotiations prior to the meeting.
- The board voted on and approved the consent agenda, which included 4/14/26 Board of Education meeting and closed session minutes, personnel reports A and B, actual payroll, bills and checks, 8th Grade Graduation Students, Chromebook Charging Carts, and the Consolidated District Plan.
- Board Communication discussed Passport Around the World at Euclid, the Indian Grove Glow Dance, the RTMS Band Concert, Prairie Trails Prom, the NSSEO Miracle on Miner Event.
- During District Recognition, the Board acknowledged a generous donation of Chromebook carts from District 64 and a district library grant.
- Ms. Alicia Duell honored members of the Technology Committee for their service.
- Following a public hearing, the Board voted to approve the renewal of the district’s E-learning plan.
- Mr. Ryan Berry provided an update on staffing plans for the upcoming school year.
- Vice President Ann Forman shared updates regarding the River Trails Education Foundation.
- The NSSEO Committee report was given by Mr. Rognstad, which included a vote to approve the budget.
- The President’s report highlighted a busy end-of-year schedule across the district and important upcoming board dates.
- Mr.Grimpe reflected on his time as Board President over the last 5 years.
- Superintendent Dr. Megerle expressed the district's gratitude for Mr. Grimpe’s service and provided a brief update on PERA (Performance Evaluation Reform Act) changes in her report.
- The Board moved to adjourn Sine Die to facilitate reorganization.
- The election of board officers, the time, date and locations of Regular Board Meetings, committee assignments and board appointments, and the adoption of Prior Policies, Rules & Regulations were voted on and approved.
