The River Trails School District 26 Board of Education held a meeting on Tuesday, April 14 at River Trails Middle School. A full recording of the meeting is available for viewing on our YouTube page.
Here are the highlights:
- The board resumed open session after holding a closed session on personal and negotiations prior to the meeting
- The board voted on and approved the consent agenda, which included 3/10/26 Board of Education meeting and closed session minutes, personnel report, actual payroll, bills and checks, ELA and Social Studies Curriculum Materials and Interactive Flat Panel Phase III
- Board Communication discussed the Musical and Hero Night at RTMS, Top of the Muffin to You at Indian Grove, and Parent Teacher Conferences
- District Coaches were given recognition by Dr. Kristine Seifert
- Dr. Kristine Seifert provided an Education Services update regarding Balancing Access and Accountability: Refining our K-8 Mobile Learning Model
- A staffing update for the 2026-2027 School Year was given by Mr. Ryan Berry
- Mr. Berry also gave a Facilities and Maintenance Update
- The NSSEO Committee report was given by Mr. Rognstad, which included a budget
- Mrs.Bianchini, the Public Relations committee chair, gave updates on from their latest meeting, including discussion about a Chicago Dogs Game event, Brewing with the Board, 8th Grade Graduation and resuming RTEA Dinners.
- The President’s report talked about upcoming events, including Indian Grove Music sharing and school dance, Euclid Caps Ice Cream Coolest School, Jump into spring, and Muffins with Munchkins, Prairie Trails Prom, River Trails Middle School Concerts, upcoming board events
- A resolution Regarding School Access, Student Privacy, and Immigration Enforcement Actions was discussed and approved by the board.
- District Signage was discussed and approved.
- Dr. Megerle gave an update on the Consolidated District Plan, a summer school preview, as well as The NSSEO Operations update in the Superintendent's report.
