The River Trails School District 26 Board of Education held a meeting on Tuesday, March 10 at River Trails Middle School. A full recording of the meeting is available for viewing on our YouTube page.
Here are the highlights:
- The board resumed open session after holding a closed session on personal prior to the meeting
- The board voted on and approved the consent agenda, which included 2/10/26 Board of Education meeting and closed session minutes, personnel report, actual payroll, bills and checks, declassification of minutes, destruction of tapes, and NCISC Partnership Programs
- Board Communication discussed RTMS Concerts, Mt. Prospect State of the Village address, the upcoming River Trails Education Plant Sale, and the Hersey Show Choir showcase,
- NSSEO Coaches Kim Wimer, Tara Hanson, and Vanessa Wilkinson were given recognition
- The IASB recognition of the professional growth of our board members was celebrated
- Mrs. Kristine Seifert provided an Education Services update regarding the Elementary ELA and Middle School Social Studies curriculum material proposals for the 2026-2027 school year
- Information about Interactive Flat Panel Phase III was given by Ms. Alicia Duell
- Information about the ERate Equipment plan was presented. It was voted on and approved
- A staffing update for the 2026-2027 School Year was given by Mr. Ryan Berry
- The NSSEO Committee report was given by Mr. Rognstad
- The Operations Committee provided an infrastructure update that was discussed and approved the purchase of a new maintenance vehicle.
- The Benefits committee gave updates on their latest meetings.
- The President’s report talked about upcoming events, including Euclid Music sharing, IG Breakfast with Buddies and 2nd grade Music Share, River Trails Middle School Fine Arts Production and Hero Night, Spring Break, Parent Teacher Conferences, 6th grade residency verification, institute day, upcoming board dates, reorganization and self evaluations
- Dr. Megerle gave an update on strategic planning, as well as The NSSEO Operations update in the Superintendent's report
- Communications to the Board, FOIA requests, and Potential future topics were discussed
- Updates on Pending Future Topics were given
