The River Trails School District 26 Board of Education held a meeting on Tuesday, February 10 at Indian Grove School. A full recording of the meeting is available for viewing on our YouTube page.
Here are the highlights:
- Before the meeting, a closed session was held to discuss personnel and negotiations
- The board voted on and approved the consent agenda, which included 1/13/26 Board of Education meeting minutes, personnel reports A, B, and C, actual payroll, bills and checks, the Chromebook refresh, and Press Packet 120
- Personnel Report D was removed from the consent agenda and further voted on. It was approved.
- The IG Literacy Outside the Classroom, including Stories and Snacks Club, Battle of the Books, and Spelling Bee was given recognition
- Board Communication discussed Euclid Fun Fair, Village of Mount Prospect Shining Stars Event, Techno Nights at Euclid and Indian Grove, Monet Night at Indian Grove, the Village Civic Connections Event, and Euclid Chorus and Orchestra Concert.
- RTEA comments were given by Mr. Bob Kastner
- Visitor comments were given
- Indian Grove School Principal Mr. William Timmins and Assistant Principal Mrs.Melissa Vonachen gave an update on the 25-26 school year building goals
- Business Services gave information about seasonal employment opportunities
- The NSSEO Committee report was given by Mr. Rognstad and discussed the annual analysis of expenditures vs. fees paid, the continuing negotiations, and a new director hired that will be starting in July.
- The President’s report talked about upcoming events, including Indian Grove family literacy night and PTC movie night, River Trails Middle School concerts and Pack the Place, upcoming holidays, Brewing with the Board, Kindergarten Registration, North Cook Dinner, Operations Committee meeting, and the March Board Meeting.
- A discussion on updated district signage, as well as The NSSEO Operations update in the Superintendent's report
- Communications to the Board, FOIA requests, and Potential future topics were discussed.
- The Board went into closed session to discuss the topics of personnel and negotiations. No action was taken coming out of that meeting.
