The River Trails School District 26 Board of Education held a meeting on Tuesday, December 9 at Euclid School. A full recording of the meeting is available for viewing on our YouTube page.
Here are the highlights:
- Students from Euclid School led the Pledge of Allegiance to begin the meeting.
- A public hearing was held for the FY25 Tax Levy.
- The board voted on and approved the consent agenda, which included 11/11/25 Board of Education meeting and closed session minutes, personnel report, and actual payroll, bills and checks.
- RTEA comments were given by Mr. Bob Kastner.
- Board Communication discussed Euclid Bingo Night, Euclid’s Got Talent, RTMS Orchestra Concert, and RTMS Craft Fair.
- Euclid School Principal Karen Daily and Assistant Principal Sarah Hogan gave an update on the 25-26 school year building goals.
- Business Services brought the FY25 Tax Levy up for a vote. It passed.
- Mr. Berry walked the Board through the resolution to abate the tax levied for the Year 2025. The Administration recommends adopting the resolution. It was voted on and approved.
- Mr. Rognstad gave the NSSEO report which included Articles of Agreement update, movement on program evaluation and negotiations.
- Mrs. Bianchini, IASB Delegate shared the results and her experience from the IASB Delegate Assembly.
- Mrs. Freedlund, the Negotiation Committee Chair, reviewed the most recent negotiation session.
- The President’s report talked about upcoming events, including the Orchestra and Chorus. Concert at IG, Band and Chorus Concert at RTMS, Winter Carnival at RTMS, Winter Break dates, and Upcoming Board meeting dates.
- The board members shared about their time at the recent Triple I Conference.
- Dr. Megerle gave an update on the school calendar for the 26-27 school year and her mid-year review in the Superintendent's report.
- Potential future topics were discussed.
