The River Trails School District 26 Board of Education held a meeting on Tuesday, November 11 at River Trails Middle School.  A full recording of the meeting is available for viewing on our YouTube page. 

Here are the highlights:     

• The board voted on and approved the consent agenda,which included the October 14, 2025, Board of Education meeting and closed session minutes, the personnel report, actual payroll, bills and checks, and equipment disposal.
• RTEA comments  were shared by Mr. Bob Kastner.
• Board Communication included discussions of recent and upcoming district events such as the NSSEO Harvest Fest, Indian Grove Pizza and Bingo Night, River Trails Middle School Fall Bash, Indian Grove Donuts with Grownups, Veterans Day events, River Trails Kickoff Concerts, the River Trails Education Foundation meeting, Brewing with the Board, and Parent-Teacher Conferences.
• District recognition highlighted a donation from Dr. Nancy Wagner, Veterans Day, and School Board Member Appreciation Day 
• Education Services provided an update on fall assessments and shared information on the district’s summative designation from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Report Card.
• Mr. Rognstad presented the NSSEO report, which included approval of the proposed Articles of Agreement. Improvements in attendance and updates on union negotiations were also discussed.
• Mr. Rognstad also provided an update from the benefits committee,summarizing the topics discussed at their most recent meeting.
• Mr. Camardo & Mr. Berry presented information on the School Maintenance Grant to the Board. The committee recommended, and the Board approved, moving forward with the grant application.
• Mr. Berry discussed a compliance report confirming that the district is currently in compliance with the applicable tax law requirements. 
• Mr. Berry and Mr. Camardo reviewed the school fees for the 26-27 school year, , which were approved by the Board.
• The Board approved the fund transfer resolution , authorizing the transfer of funds from the Education Fund and Operations & Maintenance Fund to the Debt Service Fund.
• The timeline of receipt of the District's tax revenue was presented. 
• The tentative tax levy and schedule were reviewed and approved as recommended.
• Mrs. Bianchini, IASB Delegate, reviewed the Board member comments regarding the Resolutions. Following discussion, the resolutions were voted on and approved. She also reviewed the nominating committee report and sought guidance on how to cast the district’s vote at the IASB Delegate Assembly on November 22, 2025.
• The President’s report  included upcoming events such as Euclid Pizza and Bingo Night, the RTMS Craft Fair, Orchestra Concert, the Triple I Conference, Thanksgiving Break, and the next Board meeting.
• Superintendent Dr. Megerle provided an update on the district’s strategic planning survey in her report.
• The Board also discussed potential future topics were discussed  and entered closed session to discuss personnel and negotiations.

The next regular meeting of the River Trails School District 26 Board of Education will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Euclid School.
