River Trails School District 26 Schools Continue Strong Performance with Commendable Designations in 2025 Illinois Report Card

Three schools in River Trails School District 26 once again received “commendable” designations in the annual Illinois Report Card released Thursday by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). Euclid Elementary School, Indian Grove Elementary School, and River Trails Middle School were each placed in the second tier of summative designations. The district’s fourth school, Prairie Trails, did not receive a designation due to its status as an early learning center.

“Our students continue to meet high expectations, and our staff remains deeply committed to helping every child grow,” said Superintendent Dr. Jodi Megerle. “As education evolves, so do we, as our staff works hard to stay current, innovative, and focused on what students need to succeed. This shared commitment to growth is reflected in our continued success.”

The Illinois Report Card is released annually by ISBE and measures how schools and districts are progressing toward a wide range of educational goals. The assessment includes metrics such as student performance, growth, and attendance.

“Our schools’ commendable designations are a testament to the innovation and heart that define our learning community,” said Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning Kristy Seifert. “From classrooms filled with curiosity to partnerships grounded in trust, we’re building a culture where learning is vibrant and progress is continuous.”

This marks the sixth consecutive Illinois Report Card—since 2018, when ISBE began issuing summative designations—in which all three schools have been recognized as “commendable.”
