The River Trails School District 26 Board of Education held a meeting on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at River Trails Middle School. A full recording of the meeting is available for viewing on our YouTube page.
Here are the highlights:
- At 6:30PM, the board went into closed session to discuss litagation and personnel matters
- The board voted on and approved the consent agenda, which included 5/6/25 Board of Education and closed session minutes, personnel report A, actual payroll, bills and checks, travel report, middle school FTE, Field Support Specialist RIF by Attrition Resolution, Superintendent Goals 25/26,Treasurers' Resolution,Interest Earnings Resolution, Renewal Service Contracts, Y26 Property & Liability Insurance, Workers Compensation Insurance, FY26 North Cook Intergovernmental Agreement, Resolution to Transfer Funds from the Education Fund to the Operations & Maintenance Fund, and Resolution to Transfer Funds from the Operations & Maintenance to Capital Projects.
- Personnel Report B was voted on and rejected
- Board Communication discussed 8th grade graduation, a local event for Mt. Prospect elected officials at the Library, the 5th grade promotion ceremonies at IG and Euclid, NSSEO promotion ceremonies, and the End of Year Bash at Euclid
- District recognition showcased Food Services and Director Jill Kersten
- The end of the year updates on strategic goals were given by Dr. Megerle, Mrs. Kristy Seifert, and Dr. Carie Cohen.
- District Goals were updated by Dr. Megerle, Mr. Ryan Berry, and Ms. Alicia Duell
- Administration from each building: Mrs. Amy Veytsman from Prairie Trails School, Ms. Karen Daly from Euclid School, Mr. William Timmins from Indian Grove School, and Mr. Kyle Henkel from River Trails Middle School gave a recap of their yearly goals
- An update was provided on the 25/26 staffing plan
- Mr. Berry showcased the construction going on at Indian Grove and Euclid over the summer
- Mr. Rognstad gave the NSSEO update which included information on the Resolution Directing School Board Representative to Act in Accordance with the Will of the School Board
- Mrs. Freedlund presented information from the policy committee, including the second reading of new policy 7:255 and Press Packet 118
- Mr. Berry presented the 5 Year Projections and FY26 Tentative Budget in the Finance Committee report
- Information was also given on 25-26 School Meal Fees and Microgrid Costs, which were voted on and approved.
- The President’s report talked about upcoming events, including summer school, district office hours for summer, and upcoming committee and board meetings
- Dr. Megerle talked about the Parent Advisory Committee in the superintendent’s report
