April 8 Board Meeting Recap

The River Trails School District 26 Board of Education held a meeting on Tuesday,April 8, 2025 at River Trails Middle School.  A full recording of the meeting is available for viewing on our YouTube page.

Here are the highlights:   

  • At 6:30PM, the board went into closed session to discuss Personnel Negotiations  
  • The board voted on and approved the consent agenda, which included 3/11/25 Board of Education and closed session minutes, personnel report, actual payroll, bills and checks, and electricity contract 
  • RTEA Comments were given by Mr. Bob Kastner     
  • Board Communication discussed McTeacher Nights and the RTMS Little Mermaid Jr. Musical.    
  • During District Recognition,the staff granted tenure were showcased   
  • A curriculum cycle update was presented by Mrs.Seifert
  • Mrs. Seifert reviewed the recommendations for Middle School ELA Curriculum  
  • Ms. Duell gave information on the Clear Touch Panel purchase  
  • Information was given on the Certified Staff Device Refresh 
  • Mr. Berry presented on the staffing plan for the 25-26 school year 
  • An update on construction was given 
  • Mr. Rognstad gave the NSSEO update , which discussed personnel updates, strategic plan and governance, and included a budget presentation 
  • The President’s report talked about upcoming events, including the School Dance, First Grade Music Sharing,and Breakfast with Buddies at Indian Grove, First Second and Third Grade Music Sharing,  Muffins with Munchkins, Fourth and Fifth Grade Music Sharing  and Chorus at Euclid, Prairie Trails Prom,  River Trails Middle School Hero Night and Beginning Band and Orchestra Concert. The next board meeting is on May 6, and in person residency verification taking place on April 17 and 18. The Board reorganization and meeting dates for the next school year were also discussed.   
  • Dr. Megerle talked about Consolidated District Plan and audits that have taken place in the district this year in the superintendent’s report
