The River Trails School District 26 Board of Education held a meeting on Tuesday, May 7, 2023 at River Trails Middle School. A full recording of the meeting is available for viewing on our YouTube page.
Here are the highlights:
- The board voted on and approved the consent agenda, which included Board of Education meeting minutes, payroll, bills and checks, personnel report, 8th grade graduation, consolidated district plan, and equipment and furniture disposal.
- Board Communication discussed recent events, including, Prairie Trails Prom, 5th Grade Orchestra Performance, Chorus Concert at Indian Grove, having dinner with staff members, teacher/staff appreciation week and Music Sharing at Euclid
- Board recognition showcased 7th Grade AELA students and their work in the State of Illinois Letters of Literature program.
- RTEA Comments were given by Mr. Zachary Scipione
- Educational Services presented on Middle School Math Adoption
- Business Services discussed the Administration Support Staff, Administration and Superintendent 24/25 Compensation, which was voted on and approved by the board
- Committee reports were given for the Policy Committee, Benefits Committee, and NSSEO
- The President’s Report talked about all of the upcoming end of the year events
- Superintendent’s report included discussion on the format of board meetings next school year, and the district goals
- The Board reorganization meeting took place, which included the election of Board Officers, establishing time, dates & location of regular board meetings, Committee Assignments and Board Appointments, and adopting prior policies, rules & regulations
