As we enter the winter months, River Trails School District 26 would like to update you on some of the factors that contribute to closing school in the event of a weather-related closing and when you can expect to be notified. Your child may be eligible for free preschool!

ECDEC (Early Childhood Developmental Enrichment Center) is a preschool program that serves at risk children who live within the boundaries of School District 26. These may include children who are English Language Learners and/or need some extra support to be ready for success in kindergarten.

Erin’s Law Information

On January 24, 2013, Governor Pat Quinn signed a new law extending sexual abuse education in Illinois schools. The Illinois law went into effect immediately and schools are required to implement Erin’s Law during the 2014-2015 school year. Erin’s Law requires all schools to provide child sexual prevention education for all students, K-12, yearly. The law also requires educators to take part in training classes that cover sexual abuse and how to recognize warning signs.
