Welcome to the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. We are excited to share information with you regarding what we teach, how we teach, and our quest to provide the best possible education for every student in the River Trails School District. Our goal as a learning organization is to inspire our diverse student population to develop the knowledge, skills, and character necessary to excel in an ever-changing world. Additionally, we value the diversity of learning styles our students exhibit and embrace the challenge of creating life-long learners.
A comprehensive update of the English/Language Arts program and Math programs will be implemented at River Trails Middle School for the school year 2018-2019.   Common core aligned Math and English/Language Arts programs have been  implemented at the elementary schools and are updated frequently with instructional best practices.   The Stemscopes science curriculum has been integrated into all K-5 classrooms as a means to teach the Next Generation Science Standards.
The District continues to adapt to the expectations of the common core standards in all content areas.  Changes in curriculum and instruction are designed to prepare students for success with college and career readiness. The shifts in teaching and learning will continue as a means to sustain an educational environment where students are inspired to excel.
