Superintendent - Dr. Nancy Wagner
Dr. Nancy WagnerDr. Nancy Wagner joined the River Trails School District 26 team on July 1, 2017.  Dr. Wagner was the superintendent of schools at Beach Park School District 3 since 2014 and prides herself in developing a culture of learning and high expectations for all students.  Dr. Wagner has worked as an assistant superintendent for teaching and learning in School District 59, as a junior high school principal in Skokie School District 69 as well as a teacher, and as a teacher leader and assistant principal in Kildeer CCSD 96.   Dr. Wagner received her Bachelors Degree at Indiana University, her Masters at DePaul University, her Doctorate, Education Specialist and Superintendent Endorsement at Northern Illinois University and is part of the AASA National Superintendent Endorsement Program.  Dr. Wagner believes a student-centered education will help students succeed and looks forward to working with the administrators, teachers, staff, school board and community.

Assistant Superintendent for Business Services - Dr. Lyndl Schuster
Mrs. SchusterLyndl Schuster has served as the Assistant Superintendent for Business Services at River Trails District 26 since August 2006. Dr. Schuster holds a B.S. and an M.S. in Management with a concentration in Finance from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Sloan School of Management, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She attended the School Business Management program jointly sponsored by Northern Illinois University and Illinois Association of School Business Officials and received her Chief School Business Officials endorsement in 2003.  In 2016 she received her Doctorate, Educational Leadership and Superintendent Endorsement from Western Illinois University. Dr. Schuster is passionate about the environment and leads the District’s sustainability efforts as well as the District Wellness Committee which focuses on employee and student health and wellness as well as environmental wellness. Dr. Schuster believes that education holds the key  to life-long success. Her goal is to ensure that every student is inspired to learn and to reach their maximum potential while District 26 maintains financial stability.

Assistant Superintendent of Student Services - Dr. Jodi Megerle

Mrs. MegerleJodi Megerle joined the River Trails School District on July 1, 2019 as the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services. Dr. Megerle began her teaching career as a special education teacher, working at the middle and high school levels. Following several years of teaching, she has spent the last fifteen years as a middle school assistant principal and principal in Barrington School District #220, Round Lake Area School District #116 and Community Consolidated School District #59. Dr. Megerle currently holds a BA in special education from Arizona State University, a Master’s Degree and Educational Specialist Degree from Northern Illinois University and this past winter she completed her Doctoral Dissertation in Education Leadership at NIU. She is thrilled to be part of the River Trails community and is looking forward to working with the wonderful students, amazing staff and supportive families in the district. 

Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning - Mrs. Kristine Seifert

Mrs. Kristy SeifertRiver Trails is also excited to share it has selected Mrs. Kristine (Kristy) Seifert as the new Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning.  Mrs. Seifert has been in education since 2000 as a teacher, assistant principal and principal in Palatine School District 15, working with students of all backgrounds.  She has a BA in education from Purdue and two Masters degrees, one in curriculum and instruction and the other in educational leadership.  Her communication skills, ability to build and maintain relationships, knowledge and experiences made her stand out among the many talented applicants.  

Director of Technology - Mrs. Sue Hoffman

Mrs. Susan Hoffman became the Director of Technology in July of 2009. She previously served as the District Technology Coordinator for 10 years. She started at River Trails School District in May of 1996 as an administrative assistant with duties that included Technician/Network Administrator. As the Director of Technology/Technology Coordinator she has overseen the writing of several state required technology plans and the implementation of many technology projects including a new student information system; a new voice over IP phone system; new IP intercom/speaker/clock system; a new wireless network; several broadband installations and upgrades. Over the last 15 years the district has moved from a mostly lab-based desktop environment to mostly mobile devices including laptops and chromebooks for teachers and 1:1 chromebooks for all students. All classrooms have projectors and document cameras and many have interactive whiteboards. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. In addition to her district duties, she has served for many years as a state technology plan peer reviewer. She previously served on the Illinois Computing Educators Conference Committee co-chairing the Workshop Subcommittee for many years.

Director of Buildings and Grounds- Mr. Dan Whisler

Director of Human Resources - Mrs. Erin Stein

Erin SteinErin has been an educator for 23 years.  She started out as a teacher in River Forest, IL.  She then became a Dean of Students and an Assistant Principal in Wheeling CCSD 21.  After seven years in those two roles, Erin became a principal in Niles Township and worked as a building principal in two different schools for a total of nine years.  During her second principalship, Erin began taking on Human Resources responsibilities, and enjoyed working with new teachers, hiring, problem solving as well as helping staff with Family Medical Leaves.
After 21 years of working directly with children, Erin became the Assistant Director for Human Resources in Palatine CCSD15 in 2019.  After learning and growing in that role, Erin earned the position of Director of Human Resources in RTSD26.  
Erin is married to her husband Bradley, who is also a school administrator in Des Plaines CCSD62.  Erin and Brad have two boys, Jacob and Maxwell.  Jacob is entering his sophomore year at Stevenson and Max is starting 7th grade.  Besides being an educator, the most important thing in Erin's life is her family, including her extended family.  She spends her free time with her parents who are wonderful grandparents as well as cousins and friends, and she also spends time attending many many of her children's sporting events.
Erin is passionate about being a lifelong educator and values building relationships with people.  She is looking forward to a wonderful year in RTSD26!

Indian Grove School - Principal -William Timmins

After graduating from DePaul University,
Mr. Timmins started his career in Chicago Public Schools
before moving to Community Consolidated School District 59
in Elk Grove. Mr. Timmins taught reading, science, and
technology and, after completing a masters in
Curriculum and Instruction and an administrative certification
program through Concordia University Chicago, moved into assistant principal and principal
roles in District 59 before taking over as principal of Indian Grove Elementary in 2020.
Mr. Timmins is currently completing a doctoral program in Educational Leadership
through Concordia.


Indian Grove School - Assistant Principal -Emily Kruzel

Mrs. Emily KruzelMrs. Emily Kruzel has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign and a Master's degree in School Social Work from the University of Chicago. After being a lifelong Illinois resident, she and her husband relocated to Milwaukee, where she served as a school social worker in both urban and suburban districts. While in the role of a school social worker, she found herself in a variety of leadership roles and opted to complete a program to obtain her Master's in Educational Leadership from Cardinal Stritch University. After 7 years being a school social worker and living out of state, she is thrilled to be returning home to Illinois, and she is immensely grateful to be joining the Indian Grove (and greater RTSD) family as an Assistant Principal. In Kruzel's free time she enjoys cooking with her husband, taking walks with friends, visiting with family, and playing with her nieces.


Prairie Trails School - Kindergarten and Early Learning Transition Facilitator

Mrs. VeytsmanThis is Amy Veytsman's 18th year in education and her 12th year in District 26. In her 12 years in the district, she has had the opportunity to work in all three buildings, and is looking forward to taking on the principalship of Prairie Trails School when it opens for the 2021-2022 school year. She has served as a special education teacher, a TOSA (Teacher on Special Assignment), Assistant Principal at Indian Grove, and is currently the Kindergarten and Early Learning Transition Facilitator. Prior to her career in District 26, Amy has taught special education at Anne Sullivan School, in Prospect Heights, and at Aptakisic Jr. High, in Buffalo Grove. During her time in District 26, Amy has served on many committees, facilitated staff development workshops, presented at the NCLB conference and taken on many different leadership roles. Amy has a Bachelors of Science in Education degree from Illinois State University and a Masters of Education in Administration from National Louis University. She currently resides in Arlington Heights with her husband and three children.

Euclid School - Principal - Karen Daly

Karen Daly is starting her 24th year in education as the principal at Euclid Elementary. 
Karen has held a variety of roles in schools such as middle school teacher, 
literacy specialist, mentoring coordinator, curriculum writer, and assistant principal. 
Karen earned her undergraduate degree in English Education at University of Illinois, 
earned a Masters in Curriculum/Instruction from Illinois State University, and a
Masters in Organizational Leadership back at U of I. Karen has been a 
National Board Certified teacher
since 2001.

Karen lives in Palatine, loves the outdoors, runs and rides her bike for exercise, and reads voraciously
during the summer months when time slows down a bit. Her daughter, Sofia, is an avid soccer player
starting high school this fall. 

Euclid School - Assistant Principal - Sarah Hogan

Sarah HoganMrs. Hogan began working at Euclid School in the Fall of 1999 as a social worker.  In the fall of 2018, she began the role of Assistant Principal.  She is thrilled to continue at Euclid School in a new leadership role.  

Mrs. Hogan completed her undergraduate studies at University of Notre Dame and her Master's in Social Work degree from University of Illinois at Chicago.  Additionally, she completed a certification of Educational Leadership from National Louis University.  


River Trails Middle School - Principal -Mary Krall-Meske


Mrs. Krall-Meske

Mary Krall-Meske became the principal of River Trails Middle School in July of 2020. She started her career as a high school French and Spanish teacher at Lindblom College Preparatory High School in Chicago before coming to River Trails School District 26 in August of 2006. She became the assistant principal of River Trails Middle School in August of 2013.

In 2003 she graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, majoring in Spanish and Secondary Education, and minoring in French, ELL, and Bilingual Education. In 2011, she earned her M.A. in Educational Leadership from Concordia University.

Mrs. Krall-Meske is both thrilled and grateful to have this opportunity with District 26, as she knows just how special this community is. She went into education hoping to make a difference, and she believes that positive relationships with students, staff, and families are the key to a healthy and successful learning environment. She is excited for the continued collaboration with the district as a whole, and to continue working with the very talented staff members at RTMS to ensure the success of all students.

When Mrs. Krall-Meske is not in school, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her amazing son, Henry.

River Trails Middle School - Assistant Principal - Kyle Henkel

Kyle HenkelKyle Henkel is thrilled to join River Trails Middle School as an Assistant Principal. Prior to this year, he served as a Dean of Students, high school, and middle school teacher. He completed his undergraduate from Illinois State University and received his Master’s in Educational Leadership from Aurora University.

Kyle spends as much free time with his wife and two sons as possible. He is an avid sports fan, enjoys woodworking, and loves being outdoors.
