Superintendent - Dr. Nancy Wagner
Dr. Nancy WagnerDr. Nancy Wagner joined the River Trails School District 26 team on July 1, 2017.  Dr. Wagner was the superintendent of schools at Beach Park School District 3 since 2014 and prides herself in developing a culture of learning and high expectations for all students.  Dr. Wagner has worked as an assistant superintendent for teaching and learning in School District 59, as a junior high school principal in Skokie School District 69 as well as a teacher, and as a teacher leader and assistant principal in Kildeer CCSD 96.   Dr. Wagner received her Bachelors Degree at Indiana University, her Masters at DePaul University, her Doctorate, Education Specialist and Superintendent Endorsement at Northern Illinois University and is part of the AASA National Superintendent Endorsement Program.  Dr. Wagner believes a student-centered education will help students succeed and looks forward to working with the administrators, teachers, staff, school board and community.

Assistant Superintendent for Business Services - Dr. Lyndl Schuster

Lyndl Schuster has served as the Assistant Superintendent for Business Services at River Trails District 26 since August 2006. She has both a breadth and depth of experience in the field of school business having also served as an assistant school business manager, a corporate business manager and a member of a Board of Education. Ms. Schuster holds a B.S. and an M.S. in Management with a concentration in Finance from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Sloan School of Management, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She attended the School Business Management program jointly sponsored by Northern Illinois University and Illinois Association of School Business Officials and received her Chief School Business Officials endorsement in 2003. Ms. Schuster is an active member of Illinois Association of School Business Officials and has participated in a yearlong Leadership Institute provided by this organization. Ms. Schuster believes that education holds the key to life-long success. Her goal is to ensure that every student is inspired to learn and to reach their maximum potential while District 26 maintains financial stability.

Assistant Superintendentof Special Services - Dr. Miriam Cutler

Dr. Miriam Cutler became Assistant Superintendent of Special Services in 2006. She has an extensive background in special education and leadership. Her interests include children’s rights, special education advocacy, Response to Intervention, technology, differentiated instruction, and professional development for teachers.

While in District 26, Dr. Cutler has guided the district’s efforts to implement a Response to Intervention initiative that supports all students. Cutler works closely with Dr. Silverman, the principals, assistant principals and psychologists on matters of curriculum, RTI interventions, special education programming, pre-school programming, health services, social work services and other related services in the district. As a member of the Northwest Suburban Special Education Cooperative, Cutler works collaboratively with her fellow colleagues in surrounding districts.She is also adjunct faculty at Dominican University teaching Special Education classes for graduate students.

Her goal is to maximize opportunities for special education students in the district by fostering an inclusive environment to the extent possible.

Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction - Dr. Matt Silverman



Dr. Matthew Silverman currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. He has worked extensively in all areas of K-8 education, as well as at the University Graduate level. Dr. Silverman holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, a master’s degree from the University of Illinois – Chicago and a doctoral degree from National Louis University. He has a broad range of experience from classroom teaching to building level principal roles and central office K-8 leadership.  In addition to his current position, Dr. Silverman has co-authored a professional development academy for administrators as well as numerous workshop presentations for administrators, teachers and school boards. His goal is to maximize the potential of staff and students so that they can perform at their very best every day.

Director of Technology - Mrs. Sue Hoffman

Mrs. Susan Hoffman became the Director of Technology in July of 2009. She previously served as the District Technology Coordinator for 10 years. She started at River Trails School District in May of 1996 as an administrative assistant with duties that included Technician/Network Administrator. As the Director of Technology/Technology Coordinator she has overseen the writing of several state required technology plans and the implementation of many technology projects including a new student information system; a new voice over IP phone system; new IP intercom/speaker/clock system; a new wireless network; several broadband installations and upgrades. Over the last 15 years the district has moved from a mostly lab-based desktop environment to mostly mobile devices including laptops, tablets, netbooks, iPads and iPods. All classrooms have wireless projectors and many have interactive whiteboards and document cameras. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. In addition to her district duties, she has served for many years as a technology plan peer reviewer. She serves on the Illinois Computing Educators Conference Committee co-chairing the Workshop Subcommittee.

Director of Buildings and Grounds- Mr. Steve Kosmicki
Mr. KosmickiMr. Kosmicki currently serves as the Director of Building and Grounds.  He started working in the district in 1979 and has been in his current position since 1995.  Mr. Kosmicki has a background in building maintenance and construction.  He currently has the designation of CPMM and is a state licensed Stationary Engineer.  Mr. Kosmicki also has an extensive knowledge in HVAC, electrical, and carpentry.   

His goal is to have all the building safe, running smoothly and looking their best.

Indian Grove School - Principal - Lynn Fisher

Mrs. Lynn Fisher became Principal of Indian Grove School in August of 1993. Prior to her assignment at Indian Grove, Mrs. Fisher was the Assistant Principal at River Trails Middle School from 1991-1993. She began working in District 26 as a fifth grade teacher at Euclid School in 1985. From 1986-1991, Mrs. Fisher taught sixth and seventh grade mathematics at River Trails Middle School.

Since 1993 Mrs. Fisher has led Indian Grove School through many changes including the expansion of the school, housing the NSSEO MMI program, integrating Maryville students in the school, the addition of ESL classes, a growing special education population, overseeing the Early Childhood program, an integrated Character Education curriculum and the addition of many staff specialists including Reading Interventionists and Gifted Teachers. The students at Indian Grove consistently excel at various levels including state and national assessments such as ISAT and MAP. She has also been key in adopting new curriculum and serves as a district facilitator for Language Arts and the Stakeholders Vision Team. For the past five years, Indian Grove has received the Academic Excellent Award from the State of Illinois which is based on student performance.

Mrs. Fisher earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University, a Master’s Degree in Mathematics Education from National Louis University and a Certificate of Advanced Study from Loyola University in the area of Educational Administration and Leadership. She is a member of ASCD, NCTM, IPA and the Midwest Principals’ Association. Mrs. Fisher has also taught graduate level classes at National Louis University and attends professional conferences every year. Mrs. Fisher resides in Mt. Prospect with her husband and three daughters.

Indian Grove School - Assistant Principal - Amy Veytsman

Mrs. VeytsmanThis is Amy Veytsman's 6th year in District 26. In her 6 years in the district, she has had the opportunity to work in all three buildings. She began as a special education teacher at Euclid and River Trails, a TOSA (Teacher on Special Assignment) in all 3 buildings, and now, the proud Assistant Principal at Indian Grove. Prior to her career in District 26, Amy has taught special education at Anne Sullivan School, in Prospect Heights, District 23 and at Aptakisic Jr. High, District 102 in Buffalo Grove. During her time in District 26, Amy has served on many committees, facilitated staff development trainings , and presented at the NCLB conference multiple times. Amy has a Bachelors of Science in Education degree from Illinois State University and a Masters of  Education in Administration from National Louis University. She currently resides in Arlington Heights with her husband and three children. 

Euclid School - Principal - Laura Gammons

Mrs. GammonsMs. Laura Gammons became the principal of Euclid School on July 1, 2008. Gammons has been an educator since 1985. She previously served as the principal of Seth Paine School in Lake Zurich. Prior to that she directed gifted programs in Lake Forest and Barrington, and taught gifted students in Barrington and Highland Park. She started her career as an intermediate grades self-contained teacher in South Berwyn.  During her tenure, she has guided Euclid School to a National Blue Ribbon nomination and an Illinois Spotlight Award  (2013). 

Euclid School - Assistant Principal - Christine Collins

Christine Collins joined River Trails School District as Assistant Principal for Euclid Elementary School in August 2013. In 2001, Christine Collins graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with a B.A. Elementary Education. She served as a teacher in C.C.S.D. 59 at Salt Creek School for six years. Through Concordia University, she earned her M.A. in Reading Education and reading specialist certificate. She then moved into a reading and instructional resource position. In this role, she supported students in grades K-5 in the area of language arts, and worked with staff in her school and across the district to implement effective teaching strategies in reading, writing, and word study. She piloted the LLI intervention system by Fountas and Pinnell, and served as the C.C.S.D.59 district trainer in the program. In 2011, Christine Collins obtained a C.A.S. in Educational Leadership and her administrative certificate. She accepted a role as assistant principal in Crystal Lake. While in District 47, Christine Collins worked with staff at her school and across the district to deconstruct learning standards, and to develop data-driven teaching strategies. She assisted with the implementation of NWEA MAP testing, providing training in utilizing data to improve instruction.

Christine Collins resides in Arlington Heights with her husband, two daughters, and one son. Her goal is to use the continuous improvement process to strengthen the learning community of the school. She is excited to join River Trails School District 26, and to serve the Euclid Elementary School community.

River Trails Middle School - Principal - Keir Rogers

Mr. Keir Rogers is beginning his fifth year as River Trails Middle School Principal. Rogers,taught English at both Stephen Tyng Mather High School and Carl Schurz High School in the Chicago Public Schools before becoming an assistant principal at Auburn High School in Rockford, Illinois. Mr. Rogers has served as a K-12 administrator for the past 12 years in various diverse learning communities.

Rogers’ efforts are focused on providing a high quality comprehensive education which includes opportunities for all students to excel. Over the last three years, River Trails Middle School has expanded educational programming under his leadership. During his tenure, River Trails has implemented the Writer’s Workshop model as part of its’ English and Language Arts curriculum. The middle school has increased the number of advanced level classes for math and reading. The Gateway to Technology STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) curriculum is now a part of the encore rotation for all students. Rogers believes that every student will leave River Trails Middle School feeling a sense of academic and social accomplishment.

Mr. Rogers attributes the success of River Trails Middle school to its talented staff members, wonderful students and supportive parent community.

River Trails Middle School Assistant Principal - Mary Krall-Meske

Mary Krall-Meske became the assistant principal of River Trails Middle School in August of 2013, where she previously taught French and Spanish for seven years. She started her career as a high school French and Spanish teacher at Lindblom College Preparatory High School in Chicago.

In 2003 she graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, majoring in Spanish and Secondary Education and minoring in French, ELL, and Bilingual Education. In 2011, she earned her M.A. in Educational Leadership from Concordia University.

As a teacher for District 26, she was an active member of various committees, such as the School Improvement Team, Crisis Team, and the Evaluation Committee, to name a few. She also organized the 8thgrade Career Day, a Cyber Safety school assembly, and two Cyber Safety Parent University sessions. She is very much looking forward to being more involved with the district as a whole and working collaboratively with the very talented staff members of River Trails Middle School.
