Your child may be eligible for free preschool!
ECDEC (Early Childhood Developmental Enrichment Center) is a preschool program that serves at risk children who live within the boundaries of School District 26. These may include children who are English Language Learners and/or need some extra support to be ready for success in kindergarten.

River Trails School District 26 has launched an exciting new community engagement process called Future Trails. Through a series of community workshops, the district will gather data and input to identify community priorities related to the development of a long-range improvement plan.

Residency Verification Underway
District 26 has for six years utilized the services of National Investigations to conduct residency verifications on an as-needed basis. National Investigations is licensed by the State of Illinois through the Department of Financial and Professional Regulations and works with over 30 school districts.

Erin’s Law Information
On January 24, 2013, Governor Pat Quinn signed a new law extending sexual abuse education in Illinois schools. The Illinois law went into effect immediately and schools are required to implement Erin’s Law during the 2014-2015 school year. Erin’s Law requires all schools to provide child sexual prevention education for all students, K-12, yearly. The law also requires educators to take part in training classes that cover sexual abuse and how to recognize warning signs.
