Welcome to Mrs. Rajski’s room!!! Literature and Language Arts: Language Arts and literature will be taught as an eighty minute block. The students have the same teacher for both periods. Throughout the year we will be reading many types of literature including novels and short stories. We will concentrate on the elements of fiction, and we will begin working on higher level thinking skills. Math: Students will have math for forty minutes every day. We will be using the Globe Fearon Basic Math program in math this year. We will begin the year by reviewing basic math facts involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Other topics to be discussed include fractions, graphs, and word problems. Science: We will join Mr. Stokes in his room for science to learn about topics such as matter, biomes, and electricity. We will complete all labs and projects required in his room. Students will be expected to follow lab rules at all times. Social Studies: We will join Mrs. Harris in her room this year to participate in the exploration of History Alive! Students will be actively engaged in the learning process as they participate in classroom activities and complete the workbook portion of each chapter. |
