CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
Life Skills Grade 7
Life Skills augments the core curriculum with practical hands-on activities. The activities reinforce core subject matter; provide opportunities to use creativity, critical thinking and problem solving for real life situations at home and in the workplace.
The goal of the Life Skills Department is to assist students in exploring and assessing their personal aptitudes, abilities, and interests to enable them to reach their full potential and attain a high performance work ethic. The program enables students to improve their quality of life, to become lifelong learners, and to adapt to a society of constant technological change.

Chefs Restaurant owners Restaurant managers Culinary Arts College Professor Organic grocery store presenter Special topic speakers on chocolate and spices Parents and their young children Model Cosmetologist Interior Design College Professor Junior Achievement/Banker/Personal Economics speakers Recipients of community service projects including pillows for the American Cancer Society and a prenatal nurse from Lutheran General Hospital accepting quilts for premature babies

Sew and conate pillows to the American Cancer Society Sew and donate baby quilts to the premature baby unit at Lutheran General Hospital |
