Lego Robotics

Robotics is a club that encourages teamwork, critical thinking, creativity, and expression of ideas. Students of all grade levels are encouraged to apply in September. Once admitted to the team, a commitment to attendance is required in order for your team to be successful. There is also a small fee to help cover the cots of materials, tournament fees, and unique team T-shirts.

Each Season, a Lego Robotics Project is unveiled and teams work to design and program a Lego robot to accomplish the missions. The missions and research presentation are centered on a them that is related to an issue in today’s world. Teams then compete in a regional tournament and are judged on teamwork, a research presentation, robotic deign, and an engineering review. For the 2005-2006 Robotics year, teams met on Wednesday and Thursday from 3:00-4:00, with additional days added closer to the tournament date. This year’s tournament took place at St. Paul Lutheran School in Mt. Prospect. The public was welcome to attend the tournament to see the teams in action.
