River Trails Middle School

The Improv and Drama club offers a fun and safe environment in which to practice acting strategies, including character research, managing anxiety, conveying ideas (verbally & non-verbally), and presenting scripted scene work.  Improvisational techniques also include scene, character, and team work.

Improvisation activities emphasize the power of “yes, and” when building upon each other’s contributions to a scene. Through warm-ups and structured exercises, students will be given the opportunity to explore their creativity, hone presentation skills, become more comfortable speaking in front of others, think on their feet more quickly, and expand team building skills. The club will meet every Thursday in Mr. Detzner's room 27 from 3:00 to 3:50 during the 2007-2008 school year.  All R.T.M.S. students are welcome.
