November:1,8,15,29

December:6,13

January:10,17,24,31

February:7,14,21,28

March:6,13 (last day)

 

Meetings will always be on Thursdays in room 16 from 3:00-3:50 unless notified in advance by Mr. Harmon. When you join Chess Club every student has a handicap of 10. Mr. Harmon is the sponsor in Chess Club. It begins on October 4th and he chooses who gets a Jolly Rancher of the Winner or he could even choose the Loser. Your Handicap can only drop to 5. And your Handicap can only go up to 10. If you beat Mr. Harmon, You will get 11 points. Whoever gets the most points at the end, ( March 13), you will get the Season Tournament trophy for the most total of points. Whoever gets the most attendances, you will get the Best Attendance Trophy. Other Trophies are…..Timed-Playoff Champion; Statistician; and the Equipment Manager Trophy.The goals of the Chess Club are to promote an appreciation for the joys of chess; satisfaction in being a part of something; and a sense of sportsmanship.
