The River Trails Steel Drum Band was started in the Fall of 2003 by music teacher Steve Flowers. All 7th & 8th grade students are able to audition each fall to become a member of the Steel Drum Band. Currently there are 12 members of the band performing on 7 different sets of steel drums.
The River Trails Steel Drum Band rehearses once a week, every Wednesday morning before school. The Steel Band performs at 3 concerts at River Trails Middle School during the school year, as well as other performances throughout the community.
