Character Education is an important part of the curriculum at our school.  Every month we focus on a new value from our program.  Classroom discussions, role-plays, assemblies and lessons revolve around these guidelines.  There is a Character Education Committee which meets monthly.  Last year, we instituted the Gourmet Grovers reward program in our lunchroom.  We also have a Life Rules Leaders Club which will is open to all 4th and 5th graders at Indian Grove.  Our goal is to role model and stress the correct behaviors associated with the Life Rules and monthly values..

We ask parents and guardians to support these values and to instill good life rules in the homes.  Stressing positive choices and behaviors make the experiences in school much more successful for the individual child.

In our monthly newsletters, we share information with parents and guardians about our Character Education program.  The entire village of Mt. Prospect is committed to using the Life Rules or Character Counts programs.  Some of our classroom material comes from the Character Counts model.
